"Cassie" is a Grandaughter of one of my foundation
bitches (Jasmine), and it was my hope to breed her to Magnum, in an
effort to blend the bloodlines of my original dogs, with Magnum's
bloodlines. I felt that Magnum complimented Cassie, both in
type and pedigree. (They were also good buddies!)
However, it was not meant to be. After a couple of failed
breeding attempts, and several series of progesterone tests, we found
out that she was not ovulating.
At that point we realized that the hope of joining the pedigrees
of my original dogs with Magnum, would never happen. Another
heartbreak, endured in the persuit of breeding dogs.
Cassie is co-owned with Dave & Biff Andre, and is having the
time of her life. Since she could not produce puppies, she
decided to continue acting like one herself!!
Here she is going for one of the legs on her BPD (Back Packing
Dog) title. She had to hike over 5 miles, carrying one tenth of
her own weight. But was rewarded with a nice swim afterward! |
